Purpose

I have several new paintings that I hope to have listed soon. Here is just a little peak at one of my favorites. I am thankful for my mother-in-law who provided the frame.

“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Ephesians 2:8-10

I have been wrestling with how to invest my time during this season in my life. I have struggled with this same question many times in my life. The question of, God how do I serve you right now? Lord what have you prepared for me in this time? I believe the heart of these questions is beautiful and I find peace in Ephesians 2 where is says that “God prepared in advance for us to do.” When we come to Christ, when our identity is in Christ we are each given a purpose. So much of our relationship with God is us discovering that purpose. I myself have known for a long time my purpose in life but God has never given me a road map to fulfilling my God given purpose. He gives me one step at a time. I believe this beautiful because it allows God to lead our lives, us to walk by faith and learn to trust a Lord and savor that we cannot always see, feel or understand.

So for all those out there that wrestle with these same issues I pray that you find contentment in your present, that god gives you the steps to take now in your life as your faith and trust in him grows.

  1. Thank you, my friend, for “following” my blog. I will “follow” you too now, when and as able. Your art work is truly amazing and beautiful. Surrender the results of this blog to God, and I assure you, that act will reward you! Humility brings exaltation. Timothy

  2. Hi Jules, I am finding your blog site articles insightful. Whereas, I was hurt when you decided to discontinue “following” my own blog site; I realize things happen in Life for a reason. I would hope you still could “visit” sometimes my blog; but ‘that much’ is your choice, and at your discretion. I love your artwork! God bless you and your husband. Thank you for being an advocate for mental health; as we all need help sometimes. Timothy
